Ignite Peoria

Arts Partners of Central Illinois is pulling out all stops for their main annual event, with 100 artist and maker booths, 28 performance groups and six workshops, all under one (huge) roof — plus, a hackathon presented by River City Labs. By the way, it’s all free!

An all-ages, interactive workshop with the Director of the Rainbo Cloggers.

12:00 pm – 12:45 pm: What Makes a Good Song?
A primer on basic songwriting forms, songwriting tips, and where to start in finding song ideas. For ages 16 and up.

1:00 pm – 1:45 pm: Aspiring Authors
Author Rey Clark addresses the writing process from planning a book and actually writing, all the way to financials and marketing. For ages 16 and up.

1:00 pm – 1:45 pm: Aspiring Authors
The Teaching Artists of Nitsch Theatre Arts will share tips on how to improve your “Stage Presence” at both auditions and during performance. For ages 5 to 18.

2:00 pm – 2:45 pm: World Drumming
Learn World Drumming for fun, relaxation and positivity with Peoria Drum circle.

2:00 pm – 2:45 pm: Think Like Programmers- Introduction to Scratch
Presented by Code Ninjas. Ages 7-10 (must be able to use a mouse and keyboard).

3:00 pm – 3:45 pm: Learn Some Magic
Presented by Peoria Magicians Assembly. Ages 11-14; limited to 10 participants; must bring deck of cards.

3:00 pm – 3:45 pm: Essential Oils – Basic Top 10 Usage & Safety
Usage and safety of essential oils education workshop class for all ages.
