The Urbana Park District is inviting local artists to sell their works at the inaugural Crystal Lake Park Art Fair that will be held on Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 pm.
The event is in partnership with 40 North and the Champaign County Arts Council and is one of a handful of juried art events in the area, most notably the Craft League of Champaign Urbana Art Fair, which has a holiday themed event each year in November.
For local artists it doesn’t cost money for a jury review, but artists will need to pay $75 to reserve booth space once they are selected, according to Janet Soesbe, community program manager with the Urbana Park District.
“We are happy to partner with 40 North to put on this inaugural fair in our oldest park,” added Soesbe. “We hope many artists are able to display their work and we also hope members of the public come to support local artistic talent.”
Organizers are accepting entries from across a variety of media including: ceramics, drawing, illustration, enamel, fiber, glass, graphics, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting (oil, acrylic, pastels, watercolor), paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood.
