Murder mystery, holiday mayhem on tap for Decatur’s Theatre 7 this season

Two big productions are in the works for Theatre 7, a Decatur-based non-profit community theater group that welcomes everyone interesting in putting on a show.

Auditions just finished up for Lucky Stiff, a bizarre murder mystery plot that centers on an unassuming show salesman who is forced to take the body of his murdered uncle on vacation to Monte Carlo in order to inherit $6 million.

Lucky Stiff will be directed by Morgen Mosley and performed at the Decatur Civic Center on Oct. 11-13 and then Oct. 18-20. Get more info and tickets here.

Then in November, the Plight Before Christmas Dinner Theatre will give you the drama and hilarity that maybe your own family can’t give over the holidays. This is a “Christmas Story”/Wild West mashup that includes song parodies and puns galore!

Auditions are coming up on Oct. 15 and 16, but the production itself is Nov. 22 and 23 at The Decatur Club at 158 Prairie Avenue in Decatur.

Theatre 7 has entertained Central Illinois Audiences for more than 50 years with a variety of musicals, comedies, dramas and more. The group is based in downtown Decatur right next door to the Decatur Area Arts Council.
